As some of you may know and some of you may not, I’ve been making music for most of my life. Perhaps the biggest project I’ve ever been involved with was my band called The Everymen who, from 2009ish to 2017 released three full-length LPs, a half dozen EPs, and some odds-and-sods, played somewhere around a thousand shows, toured the country from coast to coast, signed to an amazing record label, saw our tunes used in TV and movies, wrote original music for a NASCAR show, and created a lifetime of unreal memories.
We hung it up because it felt like it was time to hang it up. There was no bad blood. No acrimony. Only love and gratitude. That band will forever remain one of my life’s great achievements.
And now, next Friday, we’re playing our first show in eight years.
Why?
Well, I get into it with New Jersey’s stalwart music journalist, Jim Testa, over on his Substack. But I assure you, it has plenty to do with being a dad.
Read the interview over at Constant Listener. And, if you’re in NYC or north Jersey, come see us next Friday. We’re playing in an historic cemetery. For goats.
Congratulations on your revival, Michael. Enjoy!
