Sometimes your wife leaves you home for four days with your two kids. And for the most part, things go fine. But four days is a long time, especially when you get to the very end of the line, when mommy is en route home from her trip to the mountains and you know your extended solo weekend is almost over. And it’s in those moments when your fuse is often at its shortest. And you hope that you don’t accidentally leave voice-to-text on as you yell at your kids from the front seat of your truck because four days is a long time and mommy is almost home.
But sometimes, you do.
It’s hardly my proudest moment and seeing it in print makes me realize that I need to constantly be working on my patience. Lesson learned. Maybe I’m the one who needs to check his fucking attitude, buddy.
