You ever run a marathon?
I haven’t. But my wife has. And I’ve done plenty of 100-mile (or more) bike rides in my life. I also played football in high school and remember vividly those early-August two-a-days, when the humid Jersey Shore heat felt like a wet sweater on top of the thirty or so pounds of equipment we were already wearing. I’ve climbed mountains and rowed kayaks over absurd distances and done plenty of things that require grit, perseverance, and a bit of guts.
And none of them come close to being stuck at home with my kids all of last week.
