Awesome article. I'm slightly behind you in terms of milestones with my kids so it's fun to read what's coming next. And I feel you with these hot, humid, Southern summers! We're almost done.

At ages 9 and 11 my kids are becoming fully formed humans, albeit in little steps. Holding a real conversation about an important topic is what is currently blowing my mind.

Dude. I'm starting to see sprinkles of this here and there. Like, dropping heavy, complex conceptual stuff on the 6-year-old—who deserves so much more than I give him credit for—and just talking the shit out. Can't wait to see how it manifests in the next few years.

😮‍💨 man, this was wild one to read. My son, now 7, grows more and more independent everyday. The joy of watching it in front of your eyes and the sadness of seeing it go away. Oh boy, not sure if I’m ready for all that!
